Came in to have a cylinder rethreaded, mechanic told me I had a bent rod and needed an engine. Apparently he had photos, but the guy who took them "left for the day". Told me the car wouldn't even start, he used the vallet key. Long story short, I rethreaded the cylinder myself, car runs fine. If the rod was really bent, the car woud not be running.
James, we regret to hear that you had anything less than a wonderful experience at our shop. We aim to provide reliable and honest service to everyone who trusts us with the maintenance of their vehicle. When our team inspected your vehicle, we found that the cause of your issues was not from a broken connecting rod as initially suspected, but rather a cracked piston. With your vehicle’s rethreaded cylinder, our technician was not comfortable working on this cracked piston. Because our first goal is always the safety and satisfaction of our customers, our team won’t perform services on a vehicle that we are not 100% confident in completing safely and effectively. We did not charge for your visit or your inspection after finding the cracked piston and informing you of our findings. We hope your vehicle is serviced as needed. Thank you for your feedback.
