Coronavirus Preparedness Procedure

The Coronavirus spread has been declared a pandemic. In addition to the steps we started taking a couple of weeks back, we now have to understand that we as a team must act in unity to assist the ongoing efforts at the local, state and federal levels to contain the spread of the virus.

To this end, please see below the procedure we will be adopting effective immediately and until further notice.

Vehicle Check in and Checkout:

It is always better to act early and upstream in the case of sanitization. To this end, we will be handling all vehicles as follows:

Customer Vehicles:

At check in, whoever gets to work on the car first will do the following:

  1. Wear latex gloves
  2. Secure a sanitizing wipe.
  3. Starting at the rear left door, wipe down the door handle.
  4. Proceed to the trunk lid where you will wipe the trunk latch. 
  5. Proceed to the right rear door and wipe down the door handle.
  6. Proceed to the Driver door and wipe down that handle. 
  7. Open the door, and wipe down the inside door handle, the steering wheel, the gear shifter, and any other surface you may need to come in contact with during your work on this vehicle.
  8. When done, place a green sticker on the driver window. This will be an indication to the team that you have sanitized the vehicle.
  9. If using a wipe, dispose of it in the trash. 
  10. Proceed with your work on the vehicle.

At check-out, whoever will get to QC the customer’s vehicle will do the following:

  1. Wear latex gloves
  2. Perform the QC steps
  3. When finished with the QC steps, secure a Clorox wipe, or an Isopropyl Alcohol Mister, and a designated microfiber wipe.
  4. Park vehicle for customer pickup
  5. Wipe down the inside door handle, the steering wheel, the gear shifter, and any other surface you may need to come in contact with during your work on this vehicle.
  6. Remove Green Sticker from Driver Side Window and place the Courtesy Sanitation sign on the Instrument Panel for customer to see.
  7. Wipe down customer’s car keys and return to key holder.
  8. When using a wipe, dispose of it in the trash. 

Front of the Shop and Waiting Area

Every hour or after every customer visit:

  1. Secure a Clorox wipe.
  2. Wipe down the following:
    1. Front counter, and any place a customer has come in contact with
    2. Wipe door handles to the shop, and to the bathroom
    3. Wipe down tables and coffee machine buttons in the waiting area

Customer Greeting at counter

At intake:

  1. Do not handshake customer, even if they extend their hands out. Politely let them know that 
    1. “Please don’t take offense if I don’t shake your hand. For your safety and ours, we’ve enacted a coronavirus mitigation plan which recommends we do not do that.”
  2. When taking possession of your customer’s vehicle keys, please wipe them down using an alcohol-soaked wipe. 
  3. Point out to the customer our available hand sanitizer.
  4. Also remind them they can also wash hands with soap in our restrooms.

At exit

  1. Do not handshake customer, even if they extend their hands out. Politely let them know that

  2. Before returning your customer’s, vehicle keys, please wipe them down using an alcohol-soaked wipe.
